Guesthouse, Iffley Fields

This Arts and Crafts style guest house in Iffley Fields had a poor-quality modern extension at the back. After removing this element the rear was transformed with a three storey extension. We took advantage of the sloping site to add lower ground floor accommodation with large openings looking onto the garden.

The top floor added two additional ensuite bedrooms for guests. Below this a spacious living room for the owners enjoys views out on to the rear garden over the planted green flat roof. The owner's ground floor level bedrooms are light filled with slot roof lights and end walls of glass giving views towards the new terrace and garden.

The project is characterised by authentic Arts and Crafts details, high levels of insulation, generous spaces and careful attentions to views and light.
